This last weekend was ful of Father's Day Fun!

I noticed that our stock of fruit and veggies for smoothies were draining and we needed tons of other groceries...so Friday was a fun day of shopping.  We started out at our favorite You Pick It farm: Pic-Yur-Sef farm.  I'm not sure what's more disturbing hearing Mark make up a song about picking oneself...or hearing my 2 oldest in the back of the van singing, "Oh, yeah, Let's go pic-Yourself...cause we LOVE to pick ourselves...picking ourselves is what we like to do...cause it's SO much fun to pick yourself...' and on and on and on.  I'm just glad we went to PICK FRUIT!!  Anyway, we picked a ton of olallieberries(?).  They are like blackberries but sweeter.  Well, let me go back a second.  Mark, Ella, Keegan, and I picked 'em...meanwhile everyone Grissom picked ended up in his tummy.  he'd run down the row...act like he was hiding grab one, eat it, then run back laughing like he got away with murder.  Too bad for him he left evidence ALL over his face, hands, hair, ears, AND jacket! ha!!  It was cute.
We went to El Super (the Latino store) and Moss Landing's fruit/veggie stand, and not stopping there we hit the wal-mart to save money SO we could grab the STEAK for daddy at SaveMart!  Good thing we did ALL our shopping in this long day!  The kids ROCKED!!  So we grabbed dinner at home and headed to Mr. Popper's Penguins movie...LOVED IT!!  Even the day or 2 afterwards, Keegan and Ella both commented on how much they LOVED that movie!  It was super cute and very fun - this WILL be joining our family library on DVD!!  Anyway, here are a few pictures from this adventure:
this was a VERY foggy day, but not too cold.

The folks that HELPED...

the stinker that ATE...this was before he looked too messy

OK...now with these last picture, I want you to know I mean NO disrespect to the deceased, but when i saw this I just HAD to stop and take pictures.  I felt like I was in a scary movie and I was being shot at.  I think these are super neat...I told Mark I think our family should get one...too bad I want to be cremated and added to my flower gardens! ha...anyway, these pictures are just neat!

We went hiking on Saturday...but uploading those pics will take forever, so I'll get that done later...we are also totally PUMPED cause tomorrow Carlie and Aiden fly in for a short visit!! YEAH!  So I'm sure we'll have fun adventures with the boys just days away!

The Family StarFish...and more fun

So...last week we went rock climbing on Lover's Point...we LOVE this place because we can let the kids climb and not worry too much about them getting hurt, the water doesn't get deep until you get farther out...but there was life to be seen underwater...and I was in the mood to do science...so with Mark helping and going slow rock to rock...being more careful then ever...and it's OVER so everyone obviously lived...anyway, we found these awesome glowing blue fish swimming...we found sea urchins...we saw different kinds of algae...and tons of starfish!  SO...what did we do...we watched Daddy GET one!!  Now it's drying and we are excited to say we will be bringing it home! yeah!!
Here are a few pictures from that event:

Do you see the one on the rock?

Well, he didn't get that one...he got a purple one...or at least we thought it was purple.  After cleaning it we learned that it was a beautiful bright orange but the algae and bacteria in the water turned it purple...sweet!

Isn't he a doll!!  This was after dinner - we took a walk on the beach.

Ella got a 500 piece puzzle when Nauna was here...it ONLY took her 4 days.  She shook it up in the box afterwards and put it back together in 2 days!  She can't wait to try a 700 piece!  She's cute!!

She also climbs trees!  My little Tomboy!
Our neighbor got a kitten from her hubby...so we sneak her over during the day so we can all get a kitten kick!!  But don't tell Daddy...we know he doesn't like cats!
Ahhhh...Love that kitty! Her name is Sonny.  Cats aren't my favorite either but I LOVE kittens!!  Esp. when they aren't living with me!  But she sure makes us miss PEANUT!!
So...let me explain.  The kids take turns having 'room time' with Grissom.  They all miss their own rooms, but they are doing very good with this.  Ell and Grissom were playing Zip-line with Savannah...oh, she had a TON of FUN! ha!!  I'm just glad I didn't have to save Grissom from Ella tying HIM up...I congratulated her on being wise with her brother...she did admit that she had a thought!  ahhhhhh!!

...SO...we went hiking!

Friday after the kids woke up and discovered that Nauna REALLY did leave things were rough to say the least...Mark and I even found ourselves struggling to find the Joy!  So...we did what any family would do when sadness hits...we claimed it a JAMMIE DAY...and watched movies and filled our bodies with healthy junk food!  That evening we took off for a play set to get out the aggression that needed a place to stay!
Saturday we knew we needed something to do with our time...it  wasn't a pretty day - foggy again...so we decided it would be a great day to visit a place out here called Point Lobos.  This is a state park with trails along the coastline.  So we dressed accordingly...Keegan was forced to put on his jeans and a sweatshirt...he though refused to NOT wear his New 'Nauna' outfit!  Check him out:
We ended up walking a good 4+ miles.  Mark carried Grissom in the backpack the entire time.  We did leave for a bit to grab a good lunch at Subway, but the kids couldn't get enough and honestly I was glad cause there was NO other place I wanted to be but in the midst of God's Glory within his creation.  That will heal any heart that yearns for home!
We had NO complaints from the kids.  At one point though Keeg got upset that we hadn't gotten to see anything fun...so we stopped and asked God to show us something amazing!  Not long after we saw 2 fawns hanging out with mom right off our path...we saw tons of little bunnys...and another deer with her fawn a little later!!  Wonderful!!  Please enjoy - there are only some of our favorite pictures from this hike.  I am pleased to say no one came home with Poison Oak (which was EVERYWHERE) and we are planning more hiking AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!

I love flowers!

I told Keegan this was where the bears used the bathroom...he wanted to 'Hang' out here until we saw one use it!! ha!!

These little guys were hiding...they blend SO well.

The bunny we prayed for!

Here's one of the fawns...

Here's mommy...it was kind of scary how close she was!  She and I had a talk...she gave me this look and said, "OK...I see you are a mom of those strange 2 footed things...I'm a mom too...leave us be!"  I just looked at her and said, "You got it but not until after we get to watch you!"

Resting...a.k.a. potty break for Daddy!

this was me pulling Keegan out of the way...that wave came in just in time to try to get us wet!
