Archeology and pictures

School's kept us busy this week...here are a few things we've been doing school related or not!

Poor Ella...
you see those little 'dots' on the floor...in this picture you are only seeing about 1/4th of this creative mess.  Mark told her, "Hey El, be sure to put the beads all the way away where they go so Grissom doesn't get into them."  And what do you think happened?  Yep...GRISSOM got into them...I watched as he 'threw' his last hooraw!!  He was holding the tub without lid and while jumping up and down he was waving his arms up and down and laughing hysterically as 100's of these little beads went flying through the air!!  What FUN he had...too bad Ella had to be the clean-up crew...don't worry, we made Grissom help too...but his help doesn't last long when he picks up 1 bead at a time! ha!!
Mommy and Ella sewing by hand...she's finishing her American Girl Owl Pillow!

She's almost done!

We learned all about archeology and what an archaeologist does in the field in school.  I remembered teaching a lesson to some 3rd graders and our 'hands-on' activity was being an archaeologist with cookies!
So we grabbed some chocolate chip M&M crunchy cookies and they used different 'tools' to dig: a paring knife (I was RIGHT there), toothpicks, forks, butter knives, and chopsticks.  Keegan really loved 'digging' out the M&M's and chips...
Ella on the other hand got VERY frustrated because her cookie kept falling apart...I had to stop her and remind her that this was a FUN activity!  Such a perfectionist...WHO does she get that from??
It was a NICE mess, but one that tasted MMMMM, SO GOOD when they were done!
